Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) summer School 2020 will be held in Lviv. According to the results of the selection, Lviv won and was determined this year as the host city.
TUMI is a leading global initiative on sustainable mobility, brought together by 11 prestigious partners.
Objective: To change mobility for the benefit of people and the environment with a view to the future.
TUMI supports transportation projects around the world and enables policy makers to transform urban mobility. We believe in sustainable mobility for a better future.
The initiative is based on three pillars: innovation, knowledge, investment. We support innovative pilot projects worldwide. We share knowledge with planners about current mobility concepts, seminars and conferences. We are investing in the construction and modernization of sustainable urban infrastructure.
“This summer school will be held for the fourth time. Prior to that, it had always taken place in Leipzig (Germany), and for the first time it was decided to take place in another city and country. About 50 participants from all over the world are attending this summer school. These are people involved in sustainable mobility: government officials, NGOs, project transport organizations.
Our city was initially in the top three of the contenders to become the host city of the school. The winner was determined by the number of likes under the city’s video application on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
Thank you all for your support. We look forward to creative guests in Lviv in the summer, ”- said Orest Oleskiv, Head of Office for Transport.
On February 13, at the session of the Lviv City Council, representative of TUMI summer school Armin Wagner reported this pleasant news to our city.
Previously, we wrote about last TUMI summer’s school in Leipzig.
